Bridging the gap between volcano- and cloud-sound

When Minimal House and Nu Jazz, two directions wich are as opposite as similar, one day crossed each other, Kone's blend was right on the corner. Let him explain: "If something happens now in music, it's there. First, Nu Jazz, always on the go, unstoppably changing and blending so many sub-genres and second, Minimal, getting so Housy now, but with minimalism as a rule, tending to sound more life and balancing between being cold and warm."

Creating an atmosphere

That is what he's famous for. "I play "bar sets" as I call them, quite often. Nice sound system, music is not loud, people kinda don't notice it keeping their conversations, and suddenly somebody start to dance, others may join, may not :) Atmosphere is so easy and warm. DJs say I play too lounge, but for me it's still house, breaks or bosanova: intelligent, jazzy, latinos. Just the mood is subtle. Like talking, or even whispering. If screaming, than in nice juicy way."

Producer

The only official release by Kone, "Trip to Vuokatti" is space ambient dub journey created in 2004. "It's my impression of long road to snowboarding spot in Finland. I set near driver and we listened to Jim Morrison solo album, where he read his poetry, for hours again and again. It was such a beautiful hypnotizing experience. I did the base of track, and gave the loop to Yuri Koshkin, aka You, and he recorded me about an hour of guitar improvisations. Collaboration rules!"

Kone works on new ideas, publishing some demos under Nominal alias, so watch out for some new stuff...
